Let it snow, Let it snow!

Well folks, what better way to start off our new Blog with a positive snow report in the run up to the 2010 winter ski season!

Indeed, the Alps are resplendent in the white stuff as temperatures have dropped lower than the seasonal average for this time of year, thus turning the fairly average levels of precipitation into snow. Great news but hardly useful without any ski lifts open!

Crucially, however, we are seeing very low temps and this will ensure that the critical Permafrost layer (approx 1 metre) is achieved in readiness for the more serious amounts of snowfall we expect in late November - all in good time that is, for our December ski holidays.

Without a frozen "Permafrost" layer of this critical depth - the ski slopes will not hold there snow all season and so this is a telling time of year which usually maps the season ahead.

Stay tuned for latest info which i will blog as it becomes available.
